Practical advice for everyday plumbing problems
From a dripping kitchen tap to a running toilet or leaking pipe, small plumbing faults can be frustrating. I’m based in Potton and help with suitable plumbing repairs and installations across Sandy, Biggleswade, Gamlingay and nearby villages. A short explanation of the problem is a useful starting point. For a specific leak or faulty fitting, a photo is optional if you already have one.
What should I do if a pipe is actively leaking?
If it is safe, isolate the water at a suitable valve or the stopcock and limit further water damage. Keep away from any electrical equipment affected by water. Describe what has happened so we can discuss the next step; a photo of the specific fault is optional if it would help. Out-of-hours attendance is by arrangement and may carry an additional charge.
Can a dripping tap or running toilet be repaired?
Often a repair is possible. Faults can involve tap cartridges, fill valves, flush valves, seals or connections. The right approach depends on the make, access and condition, so I’ll explain practical repair or replacement options before additional work is agreed.
